STATE OF THE ART, INC. ANNOUNCES QUALIFICATION
FOR SPACE LEVEL QPL RESISTORS
State College, PA November 1997-
State of the Art, (SOTA) Inc. A leading manufacturer of
aerospace, military and high reliability chip resistors,
has introduced an addition to their line of MIL-PRF-55342
chip resistors.
The latest revision to the chip
resistor specification MIL-PRF-55342 rev G from DSCC (Defense
Supply Center Columbus) introduces a new space level product
designator. The "T" product designator was introduced
to standardize chip resistor specifications used by the
aerospace and avionics industries. This specification was
developed to eliminate the need to design source control
drawings for space applications.
SOTA's qualification to "T"
level was immediate due to its history supplying the industry
with MIL-PRF-55342 chip resistors at the "S" level
failure rate (0.001% per 1000 hrs). Each manufacturing lot
of "T" level product receives 100% power conditioning
and group B testing. SOTA has been suppling the aerospace
industry with "S" level Mil-PRF-55342 and 100%
power conditioned product to DSCC and customer specifications
for many years.
Available in nine case sizes with tolerances as
low as .1% and temperature coefficients to 25ppm. These
products are designed for use in applications where reliability
is a must. The additional testing reduces the possibility
of long term failures. These high reliability components
are targeted for mission critical applications such as manned
space flight, life support systems, and human implantable
medical devices where failures are not an option.
