MIL-PRF-55342
MIL-PRF-55342 is the defacto standard for high reliability chip resistors. These chip resistors are used in a variety of mission critical applications such as avionics, satellites, biomedical, communications, and of course weapons systems. Product level T is a space level resistor. Each resistor receives power conditioning (burn-in) for 100 hours as part of the Group A test. In addition, each manufacturing lot receives a Group B test (Inspection lot formation is not allowed for T level). SOTA manufactures all T level product by up-screening R or S level resistors, an additional step to further enhance the reliability of the T level product.

HIGH RELIABILITY
Mission critical applications such as aerospace, defense, and medical electronics demand the utmost in quality and reliability. SOTA offers a variety of screening to meet these demanding requirements.

MIL-PRF-55342 product is popular for mission critical applications in both the defense and aerospace sectors. For products not available in MIL-PRF-55342, or if the MIL-PRF-55342 screening is not suitable for the application, SOTA can provide custom high reliability screening.

Most SOTA High Reliability testing is based on the testing specified in MIL-PRF-55342, with deletions and additions to the testing tailored for specific applications. The table to the right lists the common tests used on High Reliability products.

Most of the possible testing permutations have been assigned SOTA specification numbers eliminating the need to generate a Source Controlled Document (SCD). This table lists some of the common SOTA specification numbers for high reliability testing of chip resistors.
